Dear folks:I am starting to explore the retirement options
in Argentina. I do realize that it is a huge topic. Any ideas where to start? Web sites, areas... A crush course in a few sentences, if you will. Thank you.

Buy a plane ticket. Find a short term apartment rental (3 months) go there and start to experience it.Your money and time will be well spent!

You can start with this↓from the Expat Argentina Blog...
I really do not see any problem with you living on $1000 USD per month in Argentina. You should be able to rent an one bedroom apartment for $175 USD per month. A basic plain dinner could cost you $3-4 USD. A nice dinner with wine, maybe $15 USD. You can get around the city cheaply as well. There's no need for you to own a car. Subways cost $0.25 USD per ride and a taxi ride across the city might cost $3-4 USD (for a long trip, short trips would cost less).... more on the link below

More like US$30 from down down to the airport... not that long a drive when traffic isn't bad.An apartment for $175 a month? In Buenos Aires? hahahaha

Maybe you are overly reacting about this. There could be cheaper ways to get around Buenos Aires than that of the blog provided there.
