I highly recommend you get in touch with Fred, from Silver Star Car...a luxury limo service that can take you wherever you want to go. Isn't $50 a bit expensive for a normal airport ride? And an hourly rate of $20 for a city tour? I don't know this seem to pricey for me, it is better if you know someone or take the public transportation without being deceived by the cab drives.

The cost of the ride is not expensive when you consider you are getting a nice, big and safe well maintained Lincoln Town Car with plenty of room, and an American driver that drives rationally, no tailgating, weaving in and out needlessly, nor excessive speeds. It would be expensive it the car was a tiny Chevy Corsa without airbags, like a typical taxi would be.Service is also reliable and punctual...and fully insured at $10, 000, 000AR coverage. Thanks, Fred www.silverstarcar.com

Why bother going to Buenos Aires if you want an "American Driver" (ie; an american expericene). Just stay in the USA.
The reason why you want an American driver here in Buenos Aires, is the majority of drivers here drive VERY aggressively (extreme tailgating, excessive speeds, weaving in and out, no use of turn signals and poorly maintained tin can tiny cars), so it's quite dangerous. It is also widely known that some (not all) taxi drivers employ shady business practices, like giving fake bills as change, and rigging meters. Who needs that? With me, you get a rational driver, and a giant safe and well maintained car, so you get to enjoy what's good about Buenos Aires, without suffering some of the bad. Consider it the best of both worlds! Fred www.silverstarcar.com

I had experienced the same thing when i travel. Mostly of the cab drivers would make it a point to get cash, an extra cash from tourists that are fresh from the country that have no idea what the real transportation price are. That is why whenever my family would go abroad for a vacation i would visit a forum site, for instance an Argentina forum if i would go in Argentina regarding this matter.

And that is why I would avoid Argentina, and Costa Rica as places to vacation. The government should enforce their taxi laws as a measure to welcome tourists.By letting the taxi drivers get away with such scams is simply putting a governmental stamp of approval on the abuse of tourists.

Well, friends, here is a link that will get you the best in B.A. Airport transfer. Suggest you aim your sights at good, honest, transportation. Buenos Aires is a dangerouis city and part of that danger is the style of driving practiced by the "norteños". This way you will to your hotel in one piece.Best vregards and good luck.
